The Community Engagement Program at NEIGB evolved from the emphasis our school’s missionary founders placed on service and community service. Following in their footsteps, NEIGB students regularly engage in raising money to support worthy causes throughout the country. These initiatives range from the annual “Clothes for a Cause” project, in which secondary students engage in a major clothes collection and packaging operation that benefits an organization engaged in the service and support of the needy.
Students from lower elementary to high school annually engage in raising funds to support causes that are chosen carefully to maximize impact. Beneficiaries from such initiatives include children’s hospitals, elderly homes, refugees, historic site renovations, Shore cleaning campaigns, tree planting initiatives, and the like. The sense of accomplishment and satisfaction from the success of these efforts continue to give momentum to NEIGB’s community engagement program.
