Leader in Me

is a whole-school transformation model and program founded on the leadership principles outlined in Franklin Convey’s bestseller “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People”. The program equips students with the leadership and life skills they need to thrive in the 21st century. It also helps them learn how to become self reliant, take initiative, plan ahead, set and track goals, do their homework, prioritize their time, manage their emotions, be considerate of others, express their viewpoints persuasively, resolve conflicts, find creative solutions, value differences, and live a balanced life. Most importantly, the program helps learners develop the skills and self-confidence they need to practice true leadership and succeed in school and beyond.

Schools completing the entire two-year “Leader in Me” accreditation program go through an extensive on-site review by franklin Covey to ensure the fidelity of implementation prior to issuing the designation “Lighthouse School”.

NEIGB adopted the Leader in Me program for all Lower Elementary learners in 2016. Then in 2017, the School enrolled all Upper Elementary students (Grades 4, 5, 6) in the program. NEIGB is currently a candidate school for the Lighthouse_School designation.
